PATEK PHILIPPE YELLOW GOLD MINUTE REPEATING POCKET WATCH REF. 772/1
If you are on the hunt for the finest known example of a minute repeater from the 20th century, you just found your watch. Fresh-to-market from the original American owner, this massive Tiffany & Co signed repeater has been lovingly cared for and stored away for decades since the buyer first purchased it in New York. The only other example of a ref. 772 known to date was sold by Collectability last year and was originally owned by the Dupont family. Interestingly, the Dupont was a smaller than this Tiffany version – the Dupont ref. 772 was 47 mm and has a 17 lignes movement, and this Tiffany example ref. 772/1 has a 18 lignes caliber and is 48.5 mm. Both watches have a similar Patek Philippe bassine-style case with hidden hinges. The presently offered watch is exceptionally preserved and also has its original, period box. Furthermore a photo copy of the original Certificate of Origin is included with the watch. For the collector who values quality and rarity, this is your next watch.
