PATEK PHILIPPE STEEL AND GOLD NAUTILUS REF. 3700/11JA
The original steel and gold Nautilus is now considered an icon of the 1970s and 1980s. With its instantly recognizable, boldly designed case and bracelet, together with its black matte ribbed dial, this unique design is nothing short of wearable art. It is hard to believe that they were once quite difficult to sell when they were originally made because they were considered too oversized for the era. Today, however, this reference is appreciated and coveted around the globe and the two-tone version is being recognized for its rarity and retro aesthetic. Interestingly, only 25 examples of the 3700/11JA’s have surfaced on the market to date and less than 200 are known to have been made. This example is fresh to market and comes from the original owner who received it from his family on his wedding day. He kept his the original box and 1980s service papers that will also be presented to the new owner.
