PATEK PHILIPPE STAINLESS STEEL REF. 3418A
Launched in 1958, the ‘Amagnetic’, or anti-magnetic, ref. 3418 was in production for four years. Available exclusively in stainless steel, these ‘tool’ watches were made using a four-piece case construction with a patented design that allows a strap model to be converted to a bracelet model without the use of lugs.
This example has a well-preserved case and an exceptional dial. Each of the hand-engraved ‘batons’ on the dial is silvered to give the impression of it being applied, a testament to the brilliant workmanship of dial maker Stern Frères.
