PATEK PHILIPPE SELF-WINDING REF. 3433J

Made from 1960 until 1966, the ref. 3433 is one of the lesser known references that featured the famed caliber 27-460, Gyromax balance, and the desirable double PP crown. The ref. 3433 replaced the earlier, and almost identical ref. 2551 (made 1954-1960). The main difference is the ref. 3433 had a different caliber than the ref. 2551; the ref. 3433 with the latest automatic caliber 27-460, and the ref. 2551 with the earlier caliber 12-600 (the same caliber used by the ref. 2526). Thinking of the ref. 3433 in its historical context, we can see that these are very much under appreciated by the market today and represent an important buying opportunity. Approximately 500 examples total were made of the ref. 3433 in all colors compared to 1200 examples of the ref. 2551 made in all colors. The cases were made by Wenger, a very wearable 36 mm, and the dials were made by Stern Fréres.
