ORIGINAL PAINTING BY GERALD GENTA ‘THE ROYAL EAGLE FAMILY’
Within the world of watch design, no one is more important than Gérald Genta. An incredible series of auctions were recently held that included the original painting for the Patek Philippe Nautilus which sold for an impressive 727,000 USD.
Genta’s creative brilliance was shared with the world and we were pleased to buy a few pieces during these auctions. Now it is our honor to present to you a select few pieces from this historic collection.
According to the auction catalog, “Gérald Genta created extraordinary unique pieces. Gracefully placed on a beautiful rock crystal base, each table clock at its center featured a terrific perpetual calendar clock set with precious stones, pearls and other hardstone materials. The present clock is part of the incredible Animal Clock series, which was compared to the work of Feberge. The designs that follow this were the pink gold Elephant Clock, then the 24k gold Lion clock after the white gold Polar bears, and finally the green gold Crocodiles. Typically featuring a family of animals, Mr. Genta usually personally sculpted the creatures by himself taking the responsibility for the most exceptional of outcomes. The Royal Eagle family, painted by Gérald Genta circa 1994 is a masterpiece considered a work of art that his most important clients treasure for their beauty, uniqueness and signature, Mr Gérald Charles Genta.”
