PATEK PHILIPPE MINUTE REPEATING POCKET WATCH
Minute repeating Patek Philippe watches are arguably the best horological value for the dollar in today’s world. There is literally nothing made today that is equivalent to this level of watchmaking that can be bought for an equivalent price. Here we present a minute repeater from over 110 years ago that is a stunning example of early 20th century Patek Philippe watchmaking. The result is a watchmaking masterwork that can be appreciated aesthetically as well as audibly. The case features a hidden hinge, the ultimate ‘complication’ of the case maker. This case is so brilliantly executed that no signs of the hinge can be seen when the case is closed, a testament to the brilliance of the case maker. Retailed by Tiffany, the dial features a Breguet numeral dial with oversized subsidiary seconds dial. Unfortunately, this pocket watch will not archive with Patek Philippe, which is something that we commonly see with watches retailed by Tiffany & Co. from this era as dials were often changed and cases were often made domestically by Tiffany & Co.
