Made from 1958 until the late 1960s, the ref. 2594 is one of the most stylistically varied references that Patek Philippe made in the mid 20^th century. The case maker, (F. Baumgartner) was able to experiment with a wide variety of designs due to the ref. 2594’s wide, flat bezel resulting in 10 different variations over a short period of production time. Some of these designs include flat, decorated, diamond, hobnail, and patterned. This particular ref. 2594/5J was made with an elegant engine-turned, sunburst bezel with engraved markers every 5 minutes.
