Made from 1958 until the late 1960s, the ref. 2594 is one of the most stylistically varied references that Patek Philippe made in the mid 20th century. The case maker, (F. Baumgartner) was able to experiment with a wide variety of designs due to the ref. 2594’s wide, flat bezel resulting in 10 different variations over a short period of production time. Some of these designs include flat, decorated, diamond, hobnail, and patterned. This particular ref. 2594/5J was made with an elegant engine-turned, sunburst bezel with engraved markers every 5 minutes. If you’re looking for a mid-20th century Patek Philippe with a big personality, your hunt has officially ended.
