PATEK PHILIPPE YELLOW GOLD ‘RICOCHET’, REF. 789/2J
The ref. 789/2J belongs to the celebrated Ricochet collection, the personal project of famed jewelry and watch designer Gilbert Albert. Appointed as workshop director at Patek Philippe in 1955 at just 25 years old, Albert transformed the company’s mid-century design language during his eight-year tenure. His bold approach, inspired by natural forms and modern art, produced the organic Ricochet series as well as the avant-garde asymmetrical wristwatches that remain among Patek Philippe’s most distinctive designs.
This ref. 789/2J is a rare example of Albert’s vision, crafted entirely in 18k yellow gold and preserved in spectacular, original condition. Both jewel and timepiece, it represents a key chapter in the creative history of Patek Philippe.
Collectability Says:
“Prices for Ricochet watches have surged in recent months, as collectors increasingly recognize their importance as wearable works of art. For one of the finest and rarest examples available on the market today, this ref. 789/2J is a true specimen piece for your collection.”
