PATEK PHILIPPE YELLOW GOLD, DIAMOND AND MINIATURE ENAMEL LAPEL WATCH
Gently hinge open this original, 126 year old Patek Philippe box and you will see something that can only be described as magical. The enamel painting is a work of art of the highest order, executed to the traditional standards of late 19th century Patek Philippe. A putti in paradise is seen flying in the blue sky surrounded by fluffy clouds. The rich colors and exceptional detail make this enamel look like it was executed yesterday. The miniature enamel portrait is further surrounded by blue enamel, framed by hand-engraved floral patterns set in diamonds. Countless hours were spent on the creation of this miniature masterpiece, far more than we see spent on modern, machine made watches that are produced today. These special timepieces were made, many by special order, for the most privileged in society, and no corners were cut. This watch was made for Florence J. Stinson, an American socialite.
