PATEK PHILIPPE RHODIUM SOLAR DESK CLOCK
Patek Philippe ref. 1001 solar desk clock, made in 1965 and sold in 1966
Watches and Accessories
This ref. 1001 is a classic 1960s solar desk with a special dial – a sector dial! Reminiscent of rare dial variations seen on Patek Philippe wristwatches in the 1950s and 1960s, this desk clock is a trophy for one’s desk and a modern work of art at the same time. The rhodium-plated case of this clock has aged with a beautiful marbleized patina. This example is made with rhodium-plated brass as confirmed by the Extract from the Archives, and is one of only a handful of white metal rectangular clocks known to exist.
