Patek Philippe WHITE GOLD REF. 3589G ‘GRAND ELLIPSE’
The ref. 3589 represents the dawn of new era. This is the first automatic Patek Philippe reference to utilize the automatic LeCoultre-based caliber 28-255. When launched in 1970, this reference was designed to house the caliber 28-255, the thinnest and best automatic movement available. This is the same caliber used with the first Nautilus when it was released in 1976. A wide selection of roman numeral dials were available for the ref. 3589 as well as stone dials, most commonly turquoise and onyx. This reference was particularly popular in the Middle East and customized dials are often seen for this watch made for clients in Oman and Iraq.
This example of ref. 3589 is impressively well preserved and includes its original felt box and Certificate of Origin. From the date code on the certificate we can assess that this is one of the last examples of this reference to ever leave the factory.
