PATEK PHILIPPE PERPETUAL RETROGRADE CALENDAR REF. 5159G-001

The ref. 5159G replaced the ref. 5059G as the signature hinged-back perpetual calendar when it was released in 2007. Elegant and bold, this wearable masterpiece highlights the best of Patek Philippe’s case, dial and movement making of the era. The Officer-style case is the star of the show with the signature screw-set lugs and hinged case-back. The earliest examples of the ref. 5159 feature a caliber 315 S QR and the Geneva Seal as we see with this example – a fact that will no doubt encourage the collecting community to dub this a ‘first series’ example of the reference. In 2009, this reference switched to the caliber 324 S Q R and in 2010 it also switched to the Patek Philippe Seal. This early example is mint and complete from the original owner who purchased it from the Patek Philippe Salon in Geneva.
