This pendant watch from 1910 is an exceptional example of one of Patek Philippe’s St. George gold engraved watches. The bezel states in Latin SECVRIT IN TEMPESTATE (safety in the storm) the outer engraving features St. George slaying the dragon surrounded by the motto GEORGIVS EQVITVM PATRONVS .’ (St George, Patron of the Knights) The fortunate original recipient was guaranteed a safe passage with such a token of good luck and the next owner will receive the same! The cuvette of this charming fresh to market watch is engraved, “Made for Anne Chambers Morck / Oil City, PA by Patek Philippe from August / Christmas 1910”.
