Patek Philippe PLATINUM TONNEAU WRISTWATCH, REF. 5098P
The ref. 5098P was launched in 2007 and designed to look almost identical to a Patek Philippe wrist watch from 1917. The hand-engraved, engine-turned dial pays homage to an earlier period when this dial style was more commonly found. The dial of this watch is often described as being a masterpiece of the art of dial making. Only Patek Philippe can produce such a dial in the early 21st century, using the tools and know-how from the late 19th and early 20th century.
This example also features the coveted Tiffany & Co. stamp, a rarity in that only a handful of the ref. 5098P was stamped due to the difficulty of stamping an engine-turned center. Complete with box and papers, this exceptional watch is sealed in its original Patek Philippe USA plastic bag.
