The ref. 715 was produced from 1942 all the way through the early 1970s. Most commonly found in yellow and rose gold, this is the first white gold version of the ref. 715 that we at Collectability have ever seen. Further adding to this watch’s rarity is its Beyer signature and exceptional condition. This watch is a visual master class in what an unrestored Patek Philippe from the 1950s looks like – a close inspection of the dial presents exactly what we want to see in a vintage watch – note the finely aged discoloration of the varnish, the raised enamel of the engraved/enameled signature, the original painted accent over the second ‘e’ in Genève, the SWISS under 6 o’clock, and of course the crispness of the original, drilled and silvered outer ring of minute pearling. The beauty of the 17 ligne caliber flaunts the Geneva Seal – look closely at the screws, the Geneva Stripes, the chamfer of the bridges and you will not be disapointed. For a specimen example from the Golden Age of Patek Philippe, look no further than this ref. 715G. This is what Patek Philippe and Collectability is all about.
