PATEK PHILIPPE POCKET WATCH REF. 651
Collectability is pleased to have found two early ref. 651 made with steel cases. This example features an unrestored Arabic and baton dial with an elegant railroad minute track which is engraved and hard-enameled to complement the equally well preserved sub seconds register and signature. The movement is stamped twice with the Geneva Seal and also stamped PXP, the early US import mark used before HOX. The case is engraved G.R. for Giorgio Ricci, the original owner of this watch. As an Italian immigrant to New York in 1920, he found great success as a restauranteur and one can imagine that this watch may have marked an important occasion in his life in 1944.
