The two-piece cases of the ref. 3587 were made by Atelier Réunis (casemaker mark 28). Large in scale — 43 mm, these were the largest wristwatches made by Patek Philippe in the 20th century. It was not until the dawn of the 21st century that we started seeing cases of this size and larger from Patek Philippe. Atelier Réunis made some of the most important cases for the manufacture during this time and it is an incredible footnote to history that Atelier Réunis was located in the same Geneva building where the Patek Philippe Museum is now housed. A landmark design in the history of watchmaking, this beautifully preserved example features the coveted ‘cheesegrater’ bracelet and a highly desirable blued gold dial. Recently serviced and ready to wear, sized for a 7 inch diameter wrist.
